For The Birds ~ A Celebration of Spring!

I was invited to show my work at the Lunaria Gallery  during their second annual invitational art exhibit. The theme of the show is  For The Birds ~ A Celebration of Spring!  The show runs from March 5th – March 31st, so if you find yourself in Silverton be sure to stop in at the gallery and check out my wacky birdy vessels.

Birth Of A Flamework Studio

Construction on the new Flameworking studio started in April, 1 week after I sold my house; I chronicled the project in photos.

It looks like a little red school house…I love it!

The view out the front doors (of the not yet built studio).

The guys came back the next morning to install the door and windows and put on the roof.

Then all hell broke loose – The wind came from nowhere, it started sleeting and snowing sideways.
Spring in the NW!

The shell of the building is done!

150 foot ditch for the new electric service

Getting wired!

Sheet rock!

paint on the walls.

Time to tile the floor…my back is not happy!

The tile is done & so is my back!

Workbench with black galaxy granite top installed.

Staining the inside trim red cherry; the color is rich, yummy and looks great with the paint job!

Starting to look like home.

Torch station with no ventilation.

Vent system  puzzle

Ventalation system installed…now I can start having fun at the torch!

One of my favorite spots in the studio, perfect for naps!
Need to get books out of storage and onto bookshelf, then it will really be like home.
